What is Vermicompost (biohumus)?

Vermicompost (biohumus ) - is a natural organic fertilizer (coprolit – product of live activity of the worms). It is a natural means for recultivation of the soil. Vermicompost (biohumus) is capable to bring back to life degraded fields and significantly increase fertility of the soil. It is widely used for preparation of natural soil mixes. In Russia vermiculture is produced by more than 100 enterprises.

What is Vermicompost (bio-humus)?

Many of us remember from botany lessons at school: « Humus is a fertile layer of ground ». HUMUS (from the Latin word humus - the ground, soil).

The organic substance of ground formed due to decomposition of the vegetative and animal debries and products of their life activity. Humus consists of humic acids, fulvo acids, humin, etc. It contains elements of a feed of plants. Is the basic parameter of fertility of ground.

Today, this major component of ground is severely destroyed, due to unwise use of the grounds, technogenic pollution, etc. As a result, the microflora of ground, that is so important for normal growth of plants, perishes. Decreases population of earth worms.

Earth worms are the most ancient animals on the earth! We should be grateful to them for development of vegetation on the ground, and in general for the life on our planet.

Process of formation of a fertile layer of the ground is impossible without earth worms. Worms perfectly process any organic waste products, the elementary monocelled organizms, nematodes, bacteria, mushrooms, various microorganisms, the rests of vegetative and animal origin. At cultivation of worms as a forage are used all kinds of mucks and droppings (in a liquid form being harmful waste products).

Thus worms allocate coprolite (a product of their life activity) which is rich in useful microflora, physiologically active compounds (enzymes, antibiotics, etc.), complex of minerals, vitamins. This coprolite is called a vermicompost (from a latin word: vermi - a worm) or biohumus - the most natural and best fertilizer for all kinds of plants. To tell more correctly, it is not a fertilizer, it is a natural foodstuff.

Why Vermicompost (bio-humus)?

Because it is 100 % organic fertilizer! It is a guarantee of reception of a non-polluting crop.
Vermicompost (biohumus) stimulates natural activity of growth of a plant.
Vermicompost (biohumus) allows to restore fertility of degraded fields. After entering Vermicompost (bio-humus) into the soil, the positive effect is observed for 3 years.
  • It strengthens immunity of a plant.
  • It is from 10 to 15 times more effective then some well known organic fertilizers.
  • It is completely harmless in any concentration and on any soils.
  • It is used as soil on its own.
  • It does not contain pathogenic microflora and eggs of helminth.
  • It does not contain salts of heavy metals.

When it is used?
  • For acceleration of germination of seeds.
  • It is ideal for replanting of transported, tinned plants.
  • Restoration or increases of fertility of ground in the shortest terms (in 1 season).
  • Increase of stability of plants to illnesses and fluctuations of temperatures.
  • Acceleration of maturing of fruits.
  • Production of tasty, healthy and non-polluting products.
  • Increase of aroma, brightness of flowers.
  • Resistance to wilting.
  • Cultivation of a lawn.
Garden mix is a universal, ready to the use soil, made on a basis of vermicompost (biohumus) with addition of peat. This soil is suitable for all kinds of sprouts and all indoor plants (РН 6,5 - 7,5). The optimum contents and a ratio of all macro-and 12 microfertilizers. It is delivered in a convenient 5 liter polypropylene package with the handle. Fort transportation it is packed into polyethylene bags to accommodate 5 packages. The period of storage is not limited.

Instructions on application
  1. Instructions on application of vermicompost (biohumus) are stated on a label inside of each package, or on the package in an indelible paint.
  2. It is introduced in the ground in regular intervals on a surface without hashing with ground or hashing on layer up to 10 mm, after plowing.
  3. The minimal doze for fertile soils is 1.5 т/аcre, for antropogenically destroyed soils - 5 т/acre.

The top limit does not exist. Frequency of application : 1 time in 3 years. For degraded soils - the first time not less than 5 т/year/acre, then 1.5 т/every year/acre up to achievement of satisfactory fertility.

Ways of application
  1. Cultivation of sprouts of vegetable cultures. For preparation of ground under sprouts it is necessary to mix vermicompost with the ground or sand in the ratio 1:7. Vermicompost will improve germination of seeds, that will allow to increase a crop essentially. To land sprouts into a ground together with roots and soil on them, without the need to apply mineral fertilizer.
  2. Restoration of soils. For restoration of fertility of garden sites and fields on 1 sq.meter a minimal doze is 0,5 kg of vermicompost, which is being spred in regular intervals and digged over not too deep. The effect from application is shown in two weeks and is kept for about 3 years afterwards.
  3. Planting of seeds and sprouts of vegetable cultures. When planting seeds and sprouts of vegetable cultures it is necessary to add a big spoon of vermicompost in every hole.
  4. Use as liquid feeding: put one glass of vermicompost into 5-7 liters of warm water, leave it for 24 hours. Make feeding two times during active growth, flowering and fructification.
  5. Use for room floriculture: mix vermicompost with soil or sand in the ratio 1:7. During the period of active flowering use as liquid feeding. Mix one big spoon of vermicompost with 1 litre of warm water, leave it for 24 hours.Make feeding two times a month.
Manufacturer's guarantee
  1. The manufacturer guarantees conformity of vermicompost (biohumus) to requirements present specifications.

Vermicompost (bio-humus) against manure - what to prefer?

When you decide to apply fertilizer to the ground the first, that comes to your mind (the most widespread decision) is to use manure. Manure is considered to be a favorable and economically justified kind of organic fertilizer. Partly it is the truth, but there is a number of the instances which necessary to take into account when using mucks, as a rule many neglect it.

Fertility of the ground depends on the presence of humus, the more the better. Manure is not the best kind of a fertilizer in terms of humus. Lets compare manure and non-polluting organic fertilizer - vermicompost (biohumus).

Vermicompost (biohumus) is a product of processing organic waste products by technological worms. Worms process organic matter i.e. - manure or compost much faster and more fully, than soil microorganisms in the process of composting. Absorbing together with soil huge quantity of the vegetative rests, the elementary nematodes, microbes, mushrooms, seaweed earthworms digest them, recovering together with coprolites plenty of humus, own microflora, amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, other biologically active substances which suppress pathogenic microflora. Thus, the organic mass loses a smell, is disinfected, gets granulated and acquires a pleasant smell of the earth.

Vermicompost (biohumus) surpasses manure and composts in terms of humus content, in 4-8 times. This is its main advantage.

Nutrients are in Vermicompost (biohumus) in the form of compounds with huminic acids and contain all necessary for plants macro-and microcells, together with biogenic calcium. The elements in biohumus, necessary for a feed of plants, cooperate with mineral components of ground and form complex compounds. Thus, they are reliably kept from washing away, slowly dissolved in water, providing a feed for plants for a long time.

The following data testify to efficiency Vermicompost (biohumus): if 1 ton of covering manure brought in ground, gives an increase of a crop (in one year of use) grain - 10-12 kg, potato - 100-120 kg, then 1 ton of Vermicompost (in one year of use) gives an increase of a grain yield of 100-200 kg, potato - 1600-1800 kg and more, and vegetables - 200 kg. The ground remains highly fertile for the next 5 years. The crop of cultures on soils, fertilized with biohumus, ripens for 10-15 days earlier, and plants get resistance to various diseases and cold. Vermicompost is used as the basic organic fertilizer at planting, feeding of all kinds of agricultural crops, in forestry, floriculture, and also at soil recultivation.

The estimation of action of  Vermicompost in comparison with organic fertilizers (humus and peat) has shown, that Vermicompost not only replaces them with success, but also surpasses on efficiency of action. So, addition of bio-humus in comparison with humus increases a crop of beet by 27 %, potato - by 19,7 %, and in comparison with peat - by 15 %.

Application of Vermicompost (biohumus) accelerates growth of plants ("biohumus" potato passes all phases of development earlier the potato which has been brought up with use of standard mineral fertilizers, for 3-5 days), strengthens their growth, promotes development of more powerful root system, formation of a lot of stalks in a potato, to increase in the area of a sheet surface. It is important for a good crop formation. Biohumus increases efficiency of salad cultures by 30 %, beet - by 45 % and potato - more than by 50 %. Thus quality indicators of fruitful production also improve. Synthesis amplifies nutritious valuable substances: Sugars, starch, an ascorbic acid. The content of nitrates in fresh production is reduced by 50 %. Besides, bio-humus possesses bactericidal properties and is biologically clean as with his use the potato is less suffer from wireworm and infectious diseases. And one more important property of biohumus: it does not pollute the ground. In its structure there are no seeds of weed plants.
